Coastal Mississippi's Cream of the Crop Boys Top Performers
Michael Young: Regional Evaluator, Connect Hoops Report
Jackson Corey | 6'4 C/O 2023 | Hancock High School | Kiln, MS
This young man is a strong guard that could play 2 positions right now in college. Long and could be one of the best shooters in Mississippi high school basketball. Literally missed 2 shots all day and never took a bad shot and played within the offense. Guarded everything from s small guard to a center and never changed how hard he played. Expect a BIG year from Jackson Corey and the offers are starting to come in.
Dwayne Perkins | 6'0 C/O 2023 | Salmen High School | Slidell, LA
Dwayne played with poise all day and made the right play in each game. He found teammates in their spots, got down hill to finish at the basket and showed a consistent effort on the defensive side. His mid-range game is solid and his IQ is off the charts.
Dillion Woods | 6'0 C/O 2024 | Pass Christian High | Pass Christian, MS
This guy has some explosive athleticism for a small guard. He got some tough blocks in transition and was just quicker to the ball than most guards. Could get down hill and finish in the lane with a nice floater and really could finish with either hand.
Kai Vieira | 6'5 C/O 2025 | St. Martin High School | Ocean Springs, MS
Kai is a project in a good way. He is long and not only blocked shots but he altered a lot more. He stayed around the rim to clean up missed shots and has a decent mid range game. Under great leadership at St. Martin, Kai will be a good college prospect upon his senior year.
Dominik Stewart | 6'4 C/O 2024 | Ocean Springs High | Ocean Springs, MS
The length that he has he will be a real good defender at the next level. All day he used his length and quickness to slow down guards and held his own against bigger players on the block. He shoots well and has an IQ that a young player like him can only develop and help his game grow. He needs to add weight and that would help more colleges want to take a chance on him.
Elijah Isom | 5'10 C/O 2024 | Ocean Springs High | Ocean Springs, MS
The quickest guard all day end to end with and without the ball. He showed a change of pace unmatched and he never got rattled (seeing different defenders all day). Strong frame helped him get to the basket, create contact and finish. Decision making got better as the day went on which was a push from the few coaches that were in attendance.
Levionne Lindsey | 6'3 C/O 2024 | Northwest Rankin High | Flowood, MS
He is small in height but his frame says he could be playing tight end on the football field. He showed a tight handle and nice face up game along with being a load on the block. He has good footwork and uses each hand fluently. He would make a good wing on the next level.
Aujaylen Barren | 5'11 C/O 2024 | Harrison Central High | Gulfport, MS
A small guard that is starting to understand the game and what it takes for him to make it to the next level. Barren is quick, smart, and a dog on defense. He had more fun playing defense than offense all day and didn't let up. He consistently blew past defenders and made the right pass every time to open shooters. He has the ball on a string and protects it very well. Right situation for this kid will blossom his game.
Duran Parish | 6'4 C/O 2023 | Biloxi High | Biloxi, MS
Parish is the best athlete on the coast if not the state of Mississippi. He is a three sport athlete (basketball, football and baseball) and he is good in all 3. He uses his speed and frame to get rebounds and stay active around the rim. His jump shot is steady, but when it's going in he is very difficult to defend. Parrish gave the best player in Mississippi, Josh Hubbard 31 points and led his team to the tough win last year.
